In order to qualify for Connect Legal's Volunteer Lawyer Matching Program an applicant must:
1. Be an immigrant who has been granted permission to remain in Canada;
2. Have been in Canada for ten years or less;
3. Be operating or launching a viable business;
4. Be unable to afford legal services; see below for Connect Legal's income and asset guidelines;

Connect Legal retains complete discretion with regard to the applicants it accepts. Factors which may affect an applicant's eligibility include the viability of the applicant's business and the nature of the legal expertise required.

Income and Assets Guidelines
Connect Legal matches its volunteer lawyers with qualified applicants who are unable to afford legal services as determined by the applicant's assets and income.
Applicants must live in a household with low assets and income levels. Income guidelines are set at 200% of the Ontario Court's Fee Waiver Guidelines and are in accordance with Pro Bono Law Ontario's program Law Help Ontario.
The guidelines are as follows:
